VRP Medical Center’s advocacy and consistent compliance with the protocols of infant breastfeeding, has made it as one of the first Mother-Baby Friendly Hospitals in the country since 2014, certified by the Department of Health.
At the forefront of this advocacy for the health and well-being of expecting and nursing mothers and mothers-to-be, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of VRPMC holds a quarterly mother’s class, “Alagang Ina”, open for free admission to all pregnant mothers and their spouses. Majority of attendees are patients of VRP doctors, walk-in patients and guests, social media followers and referrals. The class is conducted by VRPMC OB-Gynecologists with topics including Anesthesia, Labor and Delivery, Essential Intrapartum and Newborn Care (EINC), Breastfeeding, Return to Pregnancy and Family Planning.
